Northern Irish youngster Sam Morrow has had the final year of his Town contract paid up. Morrow was told he could leave on a free transfer in February.

During his time at Portman Road Morrow, 19, made one senior appearance, as a sub in this season's Carling Cup game with Notts County.

The Ulsterman also had a spell on loan at Boston but the term was cancelled after he returned to Northern Ireland for Christmas without permission.

Another released academy player, midfielder Marc Smith, is on trial at Second Division Bournemouth. Smith, the son of Town academy coach Ian Smith, played the full 90 minutes of the Cherries' reserve game against Yeovil last night.
