Dutch full-back Fabian Wilnis says he is weighing-up the one-year Town contract offered to him earlier this week. The Dutchman says he is not rushing into anything but has no other potential deals on the table.

Wilnis said: "I'm not considering other offers, not at all. It has always been the same when I have been offered a new contract — I don't see the point in making a quick decision

"I just like to take my time and not rush into things. I'm not the type of person who rushes things, but that's just me."

The 33-year-old is off to Holland and then to Turkey on holiday with his family, before spending time with Pablo Couñago in Spain. When his month of travelling is over he is expected to commit himself to another year at Portman Road.

Defender Chris Makin has already agreed to sign a new two-month deal which will allow the club to assess his fitness after his lengthy absence due to a hip injury.

Young keeper Lewis Price has committed to another year at the club, although - as has been planned for some while - he is likely to spend some of next season on loan in the lower divisions to gain experience.

Richard Naylor, Jim Magilton and John McGreal join Wilnis in mulling over one-year extensions to their stays at Portman Road but are expected to be part of Joe Royle's squad for 2004/05.

It is now understood that midfielder Jermaine Wright has been offered a longer contract than the rest. The midfielder has apparently been offered a deal which would keep him at Town for two more years.

Wright looks the most likely of the players offered new contracts to interest other clubs, with Southampton already reported to be looking into signing him on a Bosman.
