Freedman Linked Again

Crystal Palace striker Dougie Freedman is once again being linked with a loan move to Portman Road. Town manager Joe Royle has confirmed that he watched the Eagles second string in action at Coventry on Tuesday but has not commented on who he was watching.

Royle says he saw the match but revealed nothing regarding his potential target: "I was at the game but that is all I'm prepared to say. Nothing will be happening this week and nothing is signed or agreed for next week.

"There is no urgency. There is nothing wrong with the team at the moment, so it's not a matter of fixing anything.

"If we get someone in they have to be as good, if not better than we already have as I'm not bringing anyone in to be a back-up."

Freedman was first linked with the Blues by a Sunday tabloid in mid-September with the Scot subsequently saying that he would prefer to stay and fight for his place rather than move to Town or another Championship club: "I have moved from Palace before and sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side. I am determined to play in the Premiership and score goals."
