Currie & Garvan in Squad

Town are again without injury concerns as they go into Saturday's top of the table clash with QPR at Loftus Road. Manager Joe Royle has called 16-year-old Irish midfielder Owen Garvan and new man Darren Currie into his squad.

Garvan was in the 16 for the recent home game with Brighton but was not included in the party which made the trip to Crewe last weekend. However, having starred in the reserves at Derby on Tuesday, the youngster has received a recall.

Town's starting eleven again looks unlikely to show too many surprises, although Matt Richards may take over from Drissa Diallo in defence, the England U21 international having impressed as a second half substitute at Crewe. If Richards comes in at left-back, Fabian Wilnis will switch over to the right.

Currie looks likely to make his debut from the Blues as a substitute at some point in the game, probably on the right side of midfield.

The Blues will come up against former defender Georges Santos at Loftus Road. The Frenchman joined the Superhoops in the summer and has done well since his move.

The former Cape Verde international says Saturday's match gives his side the chance to move close to the automatic promotion places: "I'm always looking forward to games and it is important to win whoever we are playing. Ipswich are in the top two and if we win we will only be four points behind.

"Ipswich play good football and I'm not surprised by how well they've done. But in this division anyone can beat anyone and sometimes you need a bit of luck. We will have to see on Saturday."

Manager Ian Holloway is also impressed with Town: "We're playing one of the best teams in the division on Saturday. They're an exciting team - good going forward and with some big strong defenders.

"[Joe Royle] has played different ways and it appears that he tries to assess the opposition's weaknesses before deciding. That makes it difficult to see how they will play."

Rangers welcome back midfielder Martin Rowlands after a foot injury, while Marc Bircham is expected to be over a bout of flu.

Former Town Academy trainee Adam Miller, a recent signing from Aldershot Town, could well keep his place after an impressive debut against Nottingham Forest last week. Marcus Bean is expected to be over a hamstring injury and be available for selection.

Saturday's referee is Carl Boyeson from East Yorkshire who has shown 46 yellow cards and two red in 16 games this season. The last Town game he refereed was the 3-1 win at Walsall in March, in which Darren Bent scored a hat-trick.

Squad: Bent, Bowditch, Collins, Couñago, Currie, Davis, De Vos, Diallo, Garvan, Horlock, Kuqi, Magilton, Miller, Naylor, Richards, Supple, Westlake, Wilnis.
