Central defender Gerard Nash is fit and raring to go after his latest injury setback. Meanwhile, full-back or midfielder Scott Barron has had good news regarding a groin injury.

Nash has played 45 minutes of an Academy match since having a cartilege operation but would have returned to the reserves for the first time in Monday's postponed game with Charlton.

The Irishman told the club site: "The knee had been fine for a while after the cruciate injury and I was back playing Academy games in the autumn.

"Then the cartilage problem started and I had to have another operation to sort that out, but the knee is fine now.

"I have been working hard in the gym and have been training fully now for two weeks, so the next step is to get back into match action.

"I played a half for the Academy last week and would have played for the reserves against Charlton. I just need to get back playing games now and I'm looking forward to being out on the pitch again."

Barron had feared that he had suffered a recurrence of a groin problem which saw him require surgery earlier in the season. However, rest seems to have cured the injury and the 19-year-old is back in training.
