Unsworth a Doubt

Defender David Unsworth has emerged as an injury doubt ahead of Saturday's crunch final home league game of the season against Crewe Alexandra. The loanee from Portsmouth hurt an ankle in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Leeds.

Manager Joe Royle says he is hopeful the 31-year-old will make it: "David turned his ankle and suffered a ligament strain. He is 50-50 for the Crewe game, although it will depend how he responds to treatment and when he returns to training.

"He is going to try to train on Friday and we are hopeful that he will make it. We are certainly not writing him off yet."

Unsworth was replaced by Drissa Diallo in the second half at Elland Road, the Guinean international coming in at right-back and Fabian Wilnis moving to the left.

Should the one-time England international miss out, Royle is likely to recall Diallo to his starting line-up for the first time since he suffered a hamstring tear just before Christmas.
