Cancer Ends Legg's Career
Cancer Ends Legg's Career

Former Town loanee Andy Legg has been forced to end his playing career after a tumour on his neck was shown to be cancerous. Currently with Peterborough, Legg played seven games and scored one goal while on loan with the Blues in late 1997.

The ex-Wales international, 38, recently underwent surgery to remove the growth, which tests subsequently showed was malignant.

Posh manager Barry Fry says Legg is in the thoughts of everyone at Peterborough: "Andy has been told there's a good chance the cancer may have spread, so he has been advised to give up playing.

"It's a terrible end to a glorious career, and he has the sympathy of everyone at the club."
