Town are being linked with a move for Charlton striker Francis Jeffers. The ex-Arsenal and Everton man is apparently seen as a replacement for Darren Bent.

The report claims that talks have taken place regarding a cash-plus-player deal which would see Bent move in the opposite direction.

Jeffers moved to the Valley last summer for £2.6 million and has a year left on his contract.

The former England U21 international would be unlikely to favour a move which would see him have to take a massive cut in wages and drop into the Championship.
