New signing Sam Parkin says he has been impressed with Town's pre-season training. The squad got back into action yesterday under the guidance of fitness coach Simon Thadani.

Parkin told the club site: "The facilities the club enjoys are fantastic and so far the training is a little different from what I have been used to.

"It's very scientific and clearly a lot of thought has gone into the sessions. I have certainly been impressed and it reminds me of my days at Chelsea in a way.

"There are more coaches here than what we had at Swindon as well, and you can seen that it's a step up in standard."

Town are holding sessions at the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook this week, something they have done for a number of years.
