Town's U18s started their FA Premier Academy League season with a 2-2 draw at home to Barnsley on Saturday. The goals came from Liam Trotter and Darryl Knights.

The Blues were without midfielder Ian Nimmo who broke his leg at the Doetinchem tournament in Holland last week. The young Scot, who joined the academy full-time at the beginning of the season, broke the same leg last season.

Town's U16 side were also in action on Saturday, in a friendly with Cambridge United, the Blues winning 4-1.

Amongst the goals was Icelandic trialist Viktor Unnar Illugason. The Breiðablik striker was asked back by the Town academy having impressed in a spell at Playford Road last season.

The 15-year-old is already an U17 international team-mate of summer academy recruits Björn Orri Hermannsson and Óskar Pétursson.
