New loan signing Jay McEveley is in the reserve squad facing Fulham at their Motspur Park training ground this evening (KO 7pm). The Blackburn Rovers player has joined the Blues on a season-long loan.

Boss Joe Royle told the club site that the left-sided defender is in need of games: "Jay is not match fit and we need a couple of weeks to get him there but we have that time now.

"We have a couple of reserve team games between now and the Sheffield United match and we will use them to get him to the level of fitness we want him at."

Irish striker Billy Clarke is in the reserves squad for the first time this season having recovered from the knee ligament operation he underwent in the summer. Clarke played half an hour for the U18s in their 3-2 win at Liverpool on Saturday.

Steve McCall's squad also includes Deans Bowditch and McDonald, Jimmy Juan and Shane Supple.

Reserves: Shane Supple, Sammy Moore, Jay McEveley, Scott Barron, James Krause, Chris Casement, Danny Haynes, Jimmy Juan, Dean Bowditch, Dean McDonald, Liam Craig, Cathal Lordan, Liam Trotter, Darryl Knights, Billy Clarke, Stuart Ainsley.
