No Proudlock Solution

Boss Joe Royle says that on-trial striker Adam Proudlock has done well during his first few days with the club. However, it looks increasingly unlikely that the Blues would be able to sign him before the January transfer window opens.

FIFA's rules prevent a player from leaving one club and joining another outside the transfer windows with sackings like Proudlock's from Sheffield Wednesday not exempted. The PFA are working on the former Wolves player's behalf to try to find a way around the situation.

Royle is still hopeful that Town can come to some arrangement should they decide to sign the 24-year-old: “From what we have seen of Adam he has done fine and we will look at him more with the first team next week.

“We are still talking with the PFA and Sheffield Wednesday and I'm hoping we can find a solution.”

Proudlock was sacked by the Owls last month for a number of breaches of club discipline.
