Price Hopes to Be Fit
Price Hopes to Be Fit

Hip-injury-hit keeper Lewis Price is confident he will be fit to make his full international debut for Wales in Northern Ireland on Saturday. The 21-year-old picked up the injury in training earlier today and is considered a doubt for the World Cup qualifier.

Town physio Dave Williams told the club site that Price is hopeful he will be fine for the game at Belfast's Windsor Park: "I have spoken to Lewis and he is confident he will be OK for the Northern Ireland game but it will be down to how he feels in the morning and what the Welsh physio team say.

"It's not a serious injury and he says he will certainly be fit for next week's match against Azerbaijan if he doesn't make the Irish game.

"The hip is sore and it's a problem that he has suffered with once or twice before. It comes from the continual diving and landing on the joint that he does as a keeper.

"When he is training at the club he wears specially padded shorts that helped protect him, but he's not had them while he's been away with Wales and that could be one of the reasons why it's flared up."
