Price Misses Out
Price Misses Out
Saturday, 8th Oct 2005 18:12

Town keeper Lewis Price missed out on making his full international debut as Wales beat Northern Ireland 3-2 in Belfast due to the hip injury he picked up in training on Thursday.

Veteran Wolves stopper Paul Jones replaced Price between the sticks with Gillingham's Jason Brown on the bench. Price is expected to be fit in time to face Azerbaijan at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on Wednesday.

It's the second occasion injury has forced Price out of his international debut, the knee problem he picked up playing for Town at Leicester in August forcing him to miss a friendly against Slovenia.

Elsewhere, former Blue Darren Bent failed to make it off the bench as England beat Austria 1-0 at Old Trafford. Town will now hope to receive the six-figure top-up from Charlton due on Bent's England debut when Sven-Goran Eriksson's side face Poland on Wednesday.
