Norwegian trialist Vemund Brekke Skard was in a Town reserves side which lost 1-0 to Spurs in a friendly at Playford Road on Tuesday afternoon. The Blues fielded a strong side including Sam Parkin, Dean Bowditch, Dean McDonald and Jaime Peters.

The only goal of the game came from Tottenham's Jamie O'Hara in the 73rd minute. The midfielder curled a 20-yard freekick around the wall and into the net.

Skard, whose contract with amateur Norwegian second division side Brumunddal has just ended, played the full 90 minutes. The central midfielder showed some nice touches but was a little off the pace in his first English game and tired towards the end.

The 24-year-old joined the Blues on trial yesterday and felt his first day went well: "I was impressed with the quality of the training session. It was at a fast tempo and I really enjoyed it. I played in central midfield during the playing session and Willie Donachie told me he thought I did well."

Town once again borrowed Lowestoft keeper Andy Reynolds and the Canada-born youngster did well. Striker Billy Clarke was impressive as a second half substitute, while Gerard Nash made his return from injury as captain after the break.

Defender Noe Pamarot was perhaps the best known player in the Tottenham side.

Reserves: Reynolds, Moore, Barron, Casement, Collins (Nash 46), Skard, Trotter, McDonald (Peters 80), Peters (Haynes 70), Parkin (Craig 46), Bowditch (Clarke 46).
