Vemund's Best Next Season
Vemund's Best Next Season

Norwegian signing Vemund Brekke Skard says fans will probably have to wait until next season to see the best of him. The former Brumunddal player is continuing his comeback after a groin operation in November.

The 24-year-old midfielder has made one reserve appearance since the surgery and would have played in Tuesday's game had the match not succumbed to the weather.

The ex-student teacher told the club site that it is likely to take him a while to adjust to the speed of the game over here: "The reserve game was quicker than I thought it would be, certainly quicker than what I have been used to.

"I didn't read the game as quickly as I hoped I would and the ball was moved around the pitch at a fast pace.

"My fitness is getting there but not 100 per cent yet. I had a groin injury for a year and it has taken me longer than I thought to get over the operation.

"My fitness will come though, and I hope to improve my football all the time, but I think it will be next season before I am playing at the highest level."
