Haynes Out for a Month

Striker Danny Haynes has been ruled out for a month with the ankle injury he sustained in Sunday's derby win over Norwich City at Carrow Road. Midfielder Gavin Williams is also sidelined at present, also due to an ankle problem.

Physio Dave Williams told the club site: "Danny has had a scan and there is a tear in the ligament.

"He's wearing a protective boot to keep the joint stable but at the moment we are looking at him being out for between three and five weeks."

Physio Williams says Welsh international Williams won't face too long out: "His ankle is a bit of a mess and he also aggravated his knee injury against Norwich and he will certainly be out for the weekend, but hopefully he could be back in contention next week."

Manager Joe Royle said prior to confirmation of Haynes's extended absence that he could enter the loan market: "If the kid is going to be ruled out of more than two games I am ready to move. In fact, I have already made a couple of enquiries for players."
