Irish striker Alan Lee says he is settling in well at Portman Road and has praise for boss Joe Royle in a guest column for this weekend's The League Paper. The former Cardiff man is not ruling out a late charge for the play-offs.

Lee says he is very much at home in Suffolk: "I already feel like I have been here for ages. I bought a house in Ipswich, the football has been brilliant and it's a very friendly club with a nice set of lads, including loads of Irish lads.

"It helps that our manager Joe Royle was a striker in his playing days he understands what I'm going through on the pitch. He's been brilliant to me,
he's an absolute gent and loves the game.

"I have never been at a club where everyone from top to bottom speaks so highly of the manager."

The 27-year-old admits that a top six place won't be easy but says it can still be done: "It's going to be a big ask for us to get into the play-offs, but there is nearly three months of the season left and I don't see why we can't have a run at it."

There's more from Town's new frontman in The League Paper which is available from newsagents on Sunday and Monday each week.
