Jaime Peters will make his first start since September when the Blues travel to Plymouth for the final game of the season on Sunday (KO 1.30pm). Youngsters Liam Trotter and James Krause are also included in a squad hit by injuries, while Sam Parkin could be on the bench.

Boss Joe Royle has confirmed that the Canadian winger will be in his eleven at Home Park after doing well as a second half sub in last week's 2-0 victory over Derby County.

Royle is keen for Peters to get a proper pre-season under his belt - his first ever - before 2006/07 and has an agreement with Canada boss Frank Yallop that, aside from a tournament in May, the 18-year-old will rest throughout the close season.

The Blues are without the injured Danny Haynes (concussion), Matt Richards (ankle), Fabian Wilnis (ribs), Alan Lee (hamstring) and Gavin Williams (knee operation), while the exiting Jimmy Juan and transfer-listed Sito are not considered as Royle looks largely at players he expects to be involved next season.

Owen Garvan is a doubt with a jarred knee and will be replaced with departing skipper Jim Magilton if he fails to make it. Ian Westlake, back from pulled ankle ligaments, is confirmed in the starting line-up.

Parkin returns to the senior squad for the first time since breaking his ankle in November and Royle says he will be on the bench depending on how training goes in the next couple of days: "He'll be a last minute decision because how he reacts changes from day to day. He's coming back at the wrong time of the season in so much as the grounds are all rock hard when he's coming back from an ankle operation.

"But he did well enough the other night [for the reserves at Leiston] to merit a place on the bench if he comes through training on Friday and Saturday OK."

Royle says he wants to see Krause and Trotter in a first team context: "They've both made good progress as the season has gone on. Krause's situation is that he's been injured for a long time but since he's been back he's made progress.

"Trotter's got all the natural attributes of a midfield player; he's got the usual three lungs, he can use the ball, he can score a goal, he gets around the pitch and can do the all-round job which is required.

"I would like to see them at some stage and it seemed like a good an opportunity to get them involved."

Shane Supple is likely to continue in goal with Chris Casement making his second start, probably at right-back. Jay McEveley, who may well still be at Town next season after all, is likely to continue at left-back with Scott Barron on the bench.

At the centre of the defence Jason De Vos, who has been confirmed as next year's captain, will partner Richard Naylor, unless next season's testimonial man is required to play up front. That would mean either Casement or McEveley joining De Vos in the middle and a switch in full-backs with Barron coming into the side.

Garvan or Magilton are likely to partner Westlake in the centre of the midfield with Darren Currie on the left and Jaime Peters on the right.

Nicky Forster is a certain starter up front, with Dean Bowditch OK after his thigh injury, although the former England U19 international may be left on the bench with Naylor used alongside the ex-Reading man, and Sam Parkin possible taking over at some point in the second half.

Plymouth, for whom striker Mickey Evans makes his final appearance after two spells totalling 11 years, have injury concerns regarding Nick Chadwick and Matty Doumbe.

Argyle boss Tony Pulis said: "Nick Chadwick has got an ear infection that he's been suffering from for the last couple of days and Matty Doumbe's got a sore foot, so we'll just have to wait and see.

"Doumbe hasn't trained all week and his foot is bruised - he may train today, but we're not sure."

Sunday's referee is Brian Curson from Leicestershire who has shown 95 yellow and eight red cards in 41 matches this season. Curson's last Town game was the 11 home draw with Millwall last month.
