Joe: Staying Up a Feat Monday, 22nd May 2006 17:50 Former Town boss Joe Royle says that avoiding relegation in 2005/06 was a feat to match reaching the play-offs in the previous two seasons. The veteran manager left the Blues by mutual consent 10 days ago. Royle said: "It was sad to leave Ipswich, and I'm proud of what I achieved. "To reach the play-offs two years running despite a dwindling financial position was quite a feat. "And in the circumstances to comfortably avoid relegation from the Championship last season was just as big an achievement." The ex-Oldham, Everton and Manchester City boss says he plans to return to management and has already had some interest: "I'm in no hurry, and plan to take a rest through the summer. "I have had three enquiries already and if the right club came to me I would be happy to go back into management. It would be one in the Premiership, or one with the potential to do so." Derby County were linked with a move for Royle even before he left Portman Road.
