Garvan OK for Pre-Season

Town physio Dave Williams says that midfielder Owen Garvan will be fit to start pre-season training in June despite missing out on the recent Republic of Ireland U19 matches. Garvan was suffering from a number of problems towards the end of 2005/06 including a knee injury and was withdrawn from the Irish party.

Williams told the club site: "Owen had a few injuries at the end of the season and we decided he needed a rest after what was a long year for him anyway.

"He was carrying a few niggly problems that he shook off to play, but his knee in particular was giving him some discomfort.

"It wouldn't have done him any favours at all going away with Ireland. He needed the rest to let his body repair itself, but he will be fine to start pre-season training with the rest of the lads."

The squad will be back at Portman Road to start their preparations for 2006/07 on June 26th.
