Burley Hits Back
Burley Hits Back
Monday, 29th Jan 2001 15:43

Town manager George Burley has hit back at Birmingham skipper Martin O'Connor's comments this weekend. O'Connor said that his side will be determined to make the horrible game both on and off the pitch.

The Town manager said: "It surprises me to hear comments like that, but if they want it like that, then it suits us. There are plenty of lads with battling qualities in our side as was shown to the full against Bolton in the First Division play-offs last season when we bounced back time and time again to eventually win."

Burley also said that he was not expecting a good pitch at St Andrew's which he feels may not be ideal for our passing game.

Of O'Connor's comments Burley added: "The comments that have been made will only serve to stir us up even further. You can say what you like, but it’s what happens over the 90 minutes that counts."
