Town boss Joe Royle was more annoyed at conceding from Leeds' one serious attempt on goal than he was with the Blues' failure to net a number of chances. The 1-1 draw meant that Town could not take advantage of Wigan's 0-0 draw at home to QPR.

The Blues will rue missing a number of chances after drawing 1-1 at Leeds. Shefki Kuqi put Town ahead on 11 but Leeds hit back through Matthew Spring within a minute, however the Finn and Darren Currie both had golden opportunities to take all three points back to Portman Road.

Academy midfielder Owen Garvan missed last night's FA Youth Cup victory having been admitted to hospital with suspected meningitis earlier in the day. The Irishman had been suffering with flu symptoms but after his temperature rose was taken to Ipswich Hospital for tests.
