Striker James Scowcroft has left the Blues after Town boss Joe Royle decided not to keep him at Portman Road for the play-offs. The terms of Scowcroft's loan meant that the Blues had an option whether they kept him for the play-offs.

On-loan Town central defender Jerrome Sobers scored on his league debut for Brentford as the Bees defeated Hull City 2-1 at Griffin Park. Sobers joined Martin Allen's side in March until the end of the season, having been told be will not be offered a new deal at Portman Road.

Academy striker Darryl Knights was an unused sub as England went out of the UEFA European U17 Championship, losing 1-0 to hosts Italy in their final group game. After a victory over Belarus and a defeat to Turkey, England needed only a draw to progress to the knockout phase of the competition.

Boss Joe Royle felt his side ought to have had a first half penalty when Darren Bent was clearly felled inside the area and said he was surprised at the appointment of relatively inexperienced officials for a fixture which could have determined both a promotion and a relegation.
