You could have the best striker in world playing in our current line up

And he still wouldn’t score. Strikers need chances created, we are not creating chances and we are not getting close enough to our striker when attacking.

This system only works with better players in midfield and wide areas who can place a pass inch perfect to the lone striker.

I feel really sorry for Harrison, he doesn’t deserve the criticism as he’s not been given many chances.

Compelling viewing

I believe Chambers responded in an intelligent and measured response and am thankful he is our club captain.

His comment on the fact that every individual responds differently and they are not necessarily going to speak out in front of people is completely correct. Everyone is different.

Must be extremely difficult for him to create cohesion in the dressing room with so many new faces in such a short space of time I for one is grateful the role Chambers plays in our club.

Of our own produced young players in the first team. Hurst reluctance to select these players is my biggest concern right now and is his biggest error. Hopefully he learns that these players are good assets to our team and club.

Is it time to just abandon the academy as their route to the first team is blocked?

Hurst is saying what fans wanted to hear but it’s another huge gamble, can go one of 2 ways.

Players he’s referring too (probably the ones who only have championship experience left in the squad) totally down tools or it galvanises them.

Certainly makes Saturday interesting.

Too many changes in squad personnel in a short space of time

All these new players whilst needed as we have sold or released several established players from last season must have had a negative impact on the team spirit within the squad. When we scored tonight there was hardly much of a celebration between our players.

Hurst should start to trust the promising young players we have produced through the academy like Morris, Dozzell, Nydam, Downes, Kenlock who have a relationship playing together. Not saying play all of them but 2 or 3 should be in the match day squad every game.

I’m not surprised if he is frustrated and disappointed, he was adjudged to be fit enough to be on the bench vs Blackburn but not considered fit enough to be on the bench today. Last 20 minutes he could have come on and had a real influence today.

Andre Dozzell and other Ipswich produced players

Hurst needs to start selecting them in the match day squad in lieu of people like Roberts & The kid from Fulham, our club identity historically is with Ipswich produced players coming through. I’d be far less critical and negative today if we had seen Dozzell et al get minutes from the bench today. Be scandalous if he’s loaned out to another club whilst we entertain giving minutes to players who are not as good. Long term Dozzell needs to be in the team in lieu of Skuse who whilst dependable is limited.
