Electricity Issue
at 19:35 15 Nov 2023

TWTD hive mind!

Here is one for your significant brain power.

I was a customer of the firm Bulb that went into administration.

Their accounts were taken over by Octopus.

All easy so far.

I gave Octopus a couple of meter readings and then they paid me the balance of my credit into my bank account in March.

I was just thinking about electricity prices and went to check my tariff.

It appears I'm not an Octopus customer and haven't paid them or anyone for my electricity since March.

No one has chased me. No one has asked for a metre reading and no one has threatened to cut me off.

So who do I owe and what do I do?

There's no such thing as a free lunch and I don't want to get landed with a £1200 bill before Christmas.

I appreciate to many that this is a perfect scenario but these things oft come home to roost!

Ta!

Teamcard Points
at 23:12 8 Oct 2023

Evening All!

I know that this has been discussed before but is anyone else having issues redeeming points on itfcshop?

Spent 45 mins looking for a place to put in my Teamcard number and just can't find it. Can't even find how many points I have on my card either?!

I'm now at the stage where I feel like a complete luddite!

Any help would be appreciated - and please don't worry about explaining it to me like i'm an idiot! Clearly I am!!

Thanks in advance!

..apart from Williams putting in a Taricco-esque run was when the chap who sits in front of my boy turned around at half time to say "this isn't normal!"
I bought him a half season ticket last year and he's only seen us lose to Leeds!!

Signed my boy up to this as a rather nice way to get an interest in other leagues.

First one came today... There's something eerily familiar about it.

At least it doesn't have Marcus Evans all over it!

When I bought a half season ticket for my son and I , I didn't expect us to go on this run of games.
He's 9 and the worst he's seen us do is draw to Plymouth and Sheff Weds!!

I have to keep telling him "it's not normally like this!"

For him though, this is normal - he's just so supremely confident in the boys... I on the other hand am a nervous bloody wreck!!

He reckons 2-0 tonight...!!

God, I hope he's right... Saturday would be amazing if that's when we confirm promotion at home.

1992 and beyond
at 02:53 5 Apr 2023

"No one can catch them now , son"

These are the words I remember my father saying to me back in 1992.

We were in his white Peugout pick up truck, listening to the game at Oxford.

If I am honest, I was completely unaware of the significance of the day.. but everything else about my unusally stoic father made it seem a very important day.

I was completely unaware of the day's relevance.

We had just sold some cattle at Norwich Cattle Market.

We are farmers. That's what we do.

A man who had experienced the very highs and lows of all eras.

His neighbour was Ted Phillips. His brother's bully.

My grandmother had suitably admonished Ted. My dad... well he had done something more.

All the years previous to Bobby.. well... they were halcyon days.

And so after years and years of misery when the chance came to take his son to the football...to the first derby game in years.. he waited in line.. bought tickets and presented them to me , to watch Norwich vs Ipswich.

And when presented with this extraordinary opportunity to witness the first game between us and Norwich City for years, I chose to not go.

I didn't really like football.

Later on, my mother would tell me, in confidence, that Dad felt like he had been kicked in the teeth.

This killed me. All he wanted was to share something with his son. And I just didn't get it.

It's something that I have carried with me for years and years.

Since then I have had opportunities to take Dad into the directors box, and he has been so pleased to rub shoulders with the likes of Sheepy et al.

Don't get me wrong, there is more to my relationship with my Dad than Town but these last few years have made me look at my own relationship with the club and now my own son.

Ipswich Town is not a fashionable club.

And lately it has not been a great club.

But, it is OUR club.

Dear Lord, we have seen some dreadful times. False hope. Failed new dawns etc.

I bought a half season ticket for my son and I in the Magnus Upper at Christmas.

He has not seen a loss.

What he has seen is attacking football.

Games where Town keep fighting and the crowd keep cheering.

His Club. Our Club. My Club.

What we are seeing now... it's history... we aren't sh1tkickers anymore.

WE ARE IPSWICH TOWN.

Yes, it is frustrating
And yes I detest this god awful league and it's tinpot teams but let's just remember where we are compared to this time last year.
And also Plymouth dropped points today
But more importantly..the scum lost in the last minute of their game.

Enjoy your Saturday night folks ,😂😂

Half Season Ticket
at 10:52 7 Nov 2022

Just bought the half season ticket for the Upper Magnus for the boy and I.
£296 all in - admittedly his was £21.

If we now collapse in form and fall down the league it will be our fault!

Anyone on here in the Agricultural industry?
at 18:22 14 Oct 2022

I appreciate that this is a long shot and definetly not everyone's cup of tea but I've been asked to find a couple of people for a sales job based in Suffolk and Essex.

Ideally, it would suit someone who is a recent graduate or looking for a change of career. The only requirement is that you need a farming background or at least have an interest in it!

A decent salary and company car are on offer and as much training as you could want.

If you do know of someone, please drop me a DM.

Apologies if this isn't allowed Gav!

Car Write-Off Advice
at 16:56 29 Jul 2022

Dearest TWTD Collective,

I'm after some advice please.

Last week , my wife , children and I were involved in a head on collision.

Fortunately, we are all ok. However, I've just heard back from the estimator and alas the car is very much dead.

Has anyone had any recent dealings with getting a car write off valuation agreed.

The reason I ask is that we bought the car last year for £11k but the same age, make, model and mileage are now retailing circa £14 - £15k ( It was a Mini Cooper)

I'm preparing for them to comeback with a figure - circa £8k

Any tips or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

TIA

The boy saw his 2nd game and 2nd league win.

He's been singing Ebenezer Brown since we got home and I just caught him laughing his head off at something in the programme.

What are you laughing at?

Daddy, there's someone here called Leo Muff!!

He's one of us now!!

Morning all!

My boy is now a fully fledged blue... poor sod!

We're now leaving to get to PR.

Is the FanZone the best place to meet players and get photos? He's desperate to meet Burns and Penney.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!
