Lambert: Staying Up Not Mission Impossible
at 21:46:47

Lambert has just had his wrists slapped by the FA and is serving a two match ban, he's hardly going to have a go at the ref is he? As for deluded, do we want a manager who throws the towel in? I don't. What message does that send to players and fans? Let's get behind them and see what happens. COYB.

@geddis78 None taken. Your assumption is correct - I am a paying fan and I too only comment when I've actually seen a game.

Swn98 I never said it was a tax scam and neither did I say I was certain. You seem to be assuming the certainty in my statement. I said the club was used to offset tax. Marcus Evans Group have many companies, I would presume some are profitable and others make a loss. From recent accounts published it shows that ITFC make a loss. It's feasible, if you assume that ITFC is under the umbrella of ME Group that these losses are offset against the profits of the other companies in that group. One would imagine it is in their interest that ITFC should be profitable but after all these years of mediocrity, selling our best assets (and not replacing them adequately) plus the considerable costs associated with running a football club - it would seem that currently the club is not the highest priority within the group to be profitable. If I may ask (in reference to your post on McCarthy's post-match comments) you seem certain that many people posting on this forum do not attend the matches. Could who explain exactly who?

McCarthy Unhappy With Result But Not Performance
at 19:17:05

He shook everyone's hand in the centre circle after the game waiting for the place to clear to limit the amount of abuse he had to take walking back down the touchline. There was no desire or energy to win that game. To be fair we were decent up until their goal. Which came in the 25th minute. For the following 65 minutes we were awful.

ITFC are merely used to offset tax for Marcus Evans. As a club we are dead. The only thing that keeps people going is sentimentality for the old days and habit. All hope has been extinguished. That was the message from today's debacle. Nobody cares. If you are happy with this, keep going and keep moaning. If you're not then it's time to start thinking about what we can do about it. This forum has been a constant argument for years but twin things are even more constant: the football is dire and the ambition is limited. Today was an exercise in how not to win a football match - in case it necessitated another football match.

Mick's cunning plan to irritate us all by not bringing Celina on failed miserably as the 13 minutes he spent warming up were far more interesting to watch that what was going on on the pitch. Belligerence in the extreme.

Ticket Promotion on Sir Bobby Robson Day
at 08:47:36

For all those saying this is a cheap publicity stunt, if you can see through the raging mist, then click on the link in the article and it takes you back to an article in October 2016 when this day was announced. Most of that thread is then made up of people saying what a nice idea it is.

I'm really not happy with what's going on at the club, but it seems to me to be double standards that everyone wants Huddersfield style prices and then when a ticket offer that replicates that kind of pricing (if only for a game) is announced, people complain. I've had a season ticket for years and I don't give two hoots if the club do an offer to get people in. It's empty where I sit. Personally I like a full stadium. I've a feeling many on here like an empty one so they can moan about it.

As supporters we need to get behind whoever runs on that pitch and make sure we stay in this division. Maybe a few more backsides on seats will help that? By the way, after reading this board I hear that the club have scrapped the proposed 'Free Pie and a Pint' deal they were offering vs Birmingham. Apparently it's going to offend too many vegans and fans that don't drink.

Milne: Stay With Mick
at 20:39:13

I'm sorry Mr Milne but nobody is going to listen to you. All credit has run out. Your argument cannot be supported. After over 2 years of atrocious and limited football, that does a disservice to this club's previously progressive football philosophy, we, the fans, can take no more. The level of passion on this forum supports that view. It is too late. It is clear that you recognise this. Understandable that you are toeing the party line, yet ultimately regrettable that you choose to cross your fingers and hope it will pass. It won't.

I am a passionate supporter and have been since 1978. I am a season ticket holder in the family stand (believe me, it's a struggle to get anyone under the age of 13 to come with me these days) and am not usually vocal on this site. As such, when fans like myself feel compelled to vent their frustration, I feel the club had reached a point if no return. We are very patient in these parts. My patience has gone and I'm afraid my season ticket will follow. It was blind faith that made me renew and Mr McCarthy's consistently defensive, uninspiring tactics and, frankly, clueless decision making has driven me to distraction. I've played, watched and coached (including for the Town) a lot of football in my time and no-one can tell me what I'm watching is good.

This club a massive part of my life. It always has been. I know good times will come again. But not with Mr McCarthy in charge. You cannot persuade me otherwise.

Lincoln City 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match Report
at 22:59:50

That was an absolute disgrace. Shameful. No game plan, no system, no invention to put it right, no creativity, no passion. McCarthy's football has always been hit and hope and know it's solely hope. From the kick off we were embarrassed. The real shock, for those of us who watch this shower week in week out would have been a Town victory. There is no way back for McCarthy now. He has lost everyone, including the players it seems. There can be no more excuses. I don't want to hear anything from McCarthy. It will be the same old rubbish. He's finished. Evans is utterly clueless. He won't make the right appointment. He has no idea what to do. He's proved that time and time again. His naivety got us into this position, star struck as he is with big managerial appointments who cannot deliver. Our chance was 2 years ago, top at Christmas and playing well. He missed it. Blew it. As did McCarthy, surprised by his good fortune. It's been downhill ever since. My season ticket is in the cupboard until there's some sort of clarity and direction about our club. Those players were pitiful tonight. Lost without a system and lacking talent. There was not even the passion. Even they are over it. Ashamed of this whole shower.
