The best alternative is to have properly invested public services run for the good of the customer rather than the benefit of shareholders or whoever else. Currently we pay a lot more for worse services as a result of privatisation. Rail fares have not reduced and the service provided is not especially any better (aside from while the unions genuinely did hold the Government to ransom but that issue has been largely dealt with through legislation). People seem to think the alternatives are a return to the 70s or complete privatisation. There are alternatives. |

It was one of the "benefits" of leaving the EU - the freedom from red tape (or environmental legislation in this case). It was what the electorate voted for. |

Good that they have deleted it but what were they thinking publishing it in the first place? As bad as the one making the comments to have posted it. The individual who conducted the interview and published it needs to be educated about editorial policy. |

Doesn't a lot depend on trajectory and debt as well? I don't know about West Brom's debt and structure but were they heading towards a probability of becoming a Premier League club when they were sold? Were they under an ownership that wanted to offload them or one that was already investing and looking to grow them? There is little to asset strip at Town. Ultimately, if the project goes wrong, the biggest assets are the playing contracts and "selling" the players. That, without the investment to replace them becomes a downward spiral that decreases the value of the asset. Gamechanger had a clear plan of investing to turn Town into a Premier League club and sell at top dollar once there. The big question will be what that selling step leads to. I don't see much potential for making profit in the Premier League other than selling to a rich owner. Do Arsenal and Man Utd break even? How many other clubs do? Do any make a profit at all? |

And others will continue to object to the genocide regardless of whether a ceasefire can be negotiated. Indiscriminate bombing, cutting off water, electricity and food is not a proportionate use of force to bring Hamas to justice. |

Not just you at all. Someone needs to tell them that it takes more than just copying the colour of our shirts to get it right. |

Shame I didn't see this earlier. Decided not to travel to watch it in the ground but would have watched on TownTV if I had realised. Really pleased for them that they got the chance to play on the hallowed turf. |

Trying to emulate the free-flowing football of the top team in blue. It used to be that teams wanted to play like Brazil. Now Brazil want to play like us! |

My own experiences are that it is not always easy to access help and that can vary considerably. Had some that made no difference but one that has been very helpful. Unfortunately not one that would be available to recommend but I would if they were. |

I agree with you. Quite sure the interview the club did stated the money is available to spend but not on transfer fees. |

I hope you can quickly get to the root of whatever is up and deal with it effectively and that you have good family and friends around you who will be very understanding. Look after yourself. |

I trust Gamechanger to run this very well but before we get too cocky, I would point out that the last time we got significant investment in the Championship, it was the arrival of Marcus Evans. |
| Forum Reply | Is this additional money at 20:42 22 Mar 2024
I guess the alternative is that they have sold a share in the club at a much higher price than what they paid for the (virtually) full ownership but left that money in the club thereby increasing the value of the club significantly but not actually taking any money out of the club. One thing is for sure, they know what they are doing and are going to get a good profit out of their investment if everything runs to plan. |

Does it reduce the percentage that ME holds or simply massively increase the value of the small part he holds? It shows that the Gamechanger model of running the club effectively and successfully is giving a good return on their investment whereas ME's model was wasting his money for a long time. I don't begrudge ME clawing back some investment and being in on the ride. I don't think he deliberately ran the club badly he just made all the wrong decisions whilst he was running it. |
