McCarthy: Chopra Lives for Goals

One of the Town players said Chopra is scoring goals like the one he scored against Blackpool in training all the time.
If he has put some of his demons behind then maybe Mick should give him a run in the team.
A fit and hungry Chopra is equal to town signing a new top striker and he could help to score the goals to get Town into the top half of the table.

Looking at the table Watford score a lot of goals but they have also let a lot in.
Ithink Mick will try and keep it tight and hit them on the break.
I dont think we will lose the game because they will find us hard to break down and i think a draw or Town win.

Owner Evans Writes

Dont sound like someone ready to sell the club to me.
Like i said in one of my earlier posts he will give Mick money to build his own team in the summer and i think he is looking to get into the premier league.
Dont forget Mick has done it with two other championship teams and i for one believe he will do it with Ipswich Town.
Mark my words in Mick McCarthy we have a very good Manager and i think he will turn out to be one of the top Managers for Town the same as the likes of the great Bobby Robson and Alf Ramsey who both went on to Manage England and recieved Knighthoods.
Who else could have got so many points out of load of loan players and a bunch of other players with not much talent between them.
I dread to think where we would be now if Jewell was still the Manager.
But going back to mr evans there is no way he will sell the club at the moment because he know with a Manager like Mick Ipswich Town are going places.
Not only do we have Mick but we also have a very good assistant Manager and some top coaches and Mick has brought in some top scouts also to help him.
By the start of next season the majority of the players we have now will be gone and Mick will bring in his own team and we will be pushing for promotion next season.
Keep up the good work Mick.

McCarthy Delighted to Have Turned Down Chopra Loan Bids

I think the fan base on here concerning Chopra is about 50-50 and looking back on the games this season he seemed to have scored some goals that got us the points.
I think everybody is entitled to a second chance and on his day he can be a quality striker but the problem we were all thinking he would score 20 goals a season for us and it did not happen.
Maybe his private life has being sorted out a bit now he might just concentrate on football matters and if he was giving a run in the team we might see the old Chopra back.
I hope so.

Town 1-0 Blackpool

I am a season ticket holder and i was at the game today and thought we were playing really well and were bossing the game until Wordsworth got injured and we just lost our shape a little bit.
It was a clever move to bring Chopra on and even more so as it turned out he got the winner and i for one was glad to here the final whistle.
A lot of people on here dont seem to happy about how we are playing at the moment and trying to grind out results to get the three points but Mick told us all before the game started it wont be pretty because we are desperate for points.
Would some of you be happy if we played pretty football and lost because if that had happened today we would have been down in the bottom three.
Can i be the first one on here today say sorry and how unlucky poor Wordsworth was getting injured today after getting picked in the starting line up and having to spend the night in hospital.
Hope you make a speedy recovery.

Milne: Town Not Up for Sale

When Mr Evans first came to the club with all his millions i thought Ipswich Town were going to be huge and get up in the top league and play the likes of Man utd and Liverpool again.
He gave Roy Keane money to sign top players to add to some of the better players that we already had like Rhodes .Wichham .Garvin to name a few and what Mr Keane do he sold all these great players and replaced them with doughnuts and because of this man Town have being struggling since.
After the Keane saga along came Paul Jewell to try and sort out the mess and again Mr Evans gave him money to buy players and as much as he tried the job was to much for him and his worst downfall was bringing in to many loans and when we hit the bottom place in the league he had to go.
Then Mr Evans pulled out a master stroke and signed big Mick MaCarthy a top proven manager who was an ex international manager and had all ready got two other clubs promoted to tho premier league before and gave the job of getting Town off the bottom of the league and keep them up and so far Mick is doing just that.
At the end of the season Mick be given his money like the the manager before him and Mr keane who ruined the club to sign his own players.
Then you will see the loans go back and see some quality players come to the club.
No way will Mr evans sell the club when he has got a manager like big Mick in charge of things a manager who should be running a premier side not Town.
Mr Evans deep down knows his money is safe and he know Mick will get us up in the premier league and then he will start to claw some of his money back and even make money.
Mark my words like Mr Milne said Ipswich Town is not for sale.
Long live Mr Evans the man who saved our great club and we should all be grateful to this man.

McCarthy Delighted With Excellent Smith

I agree with most of you Tommy Smith has played really well this season and he stands out so far as player of the year.
If we play attacking football this week instead of playing for a draw we might get some goals and Tommy might get one with head again
He and a couple of other players done a fair job on Rhodes last week including breaking his nose.
Our midfielders were to busy helping the defence out and as a result did not supply any decent balls to the forwards.
More attacking football this week please and use the wingers and get the big lads up for the corners including Tommy Smith and the goals will start coming.
I predict we will score at least 3 goals this week and will get three more points to add to the total we need of 50 points or more.

I hope it dont go to the last day i dont think i could stand it.
After reading all the moaning and doom and gloom and people saying we are all ready down after loosing to Blackburn has sent my blood pressure up sky high.
No way could i keep reading some of the rubbish that some of you have been putting on here for the next 15 games if we go on a loosing run i will have to resign or have a heart attack or someone.
Lets hope its a winning run and we are safe before the last game for the sake of my health.

At last someone on here talking sense and i agree its the midfield thats the problem with our team at the moment not the strikers because they are not creating enough chances for them because going back to saturday game how many shots did the strikers have hardly any.
I see we still keep bringing the Scotland saga up and if Ellington signs for crewe and he score a couple of goals for them and i heard Priskin is scoring a few goals for his team whoever he play for now.
Perhaps at the end of the season Mick could resign all these great old goal scorers and even change our name to the IPSWICH VETERANS.

I cant wait to see what you doom and gloom moaners put on here if we win our next two home games and others results go in our favour for a change.
As for Scotland he is to old and cant even play 90 minutes any more so let him have his little moment of glory because at the end of the season his team will sign some fresh young strikers and he will be back to where he was here watching games or playing for some team like Lowestoft.
As for Campbell its all about money with him and Town cannot be held to ranson with greedy players because we offered him a contract and he turned it down end of story.
Since he left Town several other teams offered him contracts and he turn them all down and now he is back to square one on loan because Harry dont want him
because he dont rate him and if he dont score goals at Blackburn they wont pay him the huge wages he is looking for either.
As for the story going on why we let Wickham go to Sheff Wed and we had first refusal its because Town cannot aford his high wages.
Lets forget about players who have left Town and cheer on the ones we have playing for us now.
Lets stop the talk about div one next season because we still have loads of games to play and Mick is doing the best he can with the players he has to pick from at the moment and as we all know half of them will not be here next season when Mick start building his own team.
A lot of you knockers will have egg on your faces at the end of the season thats for sure and i cant wait to read some of the comments then.
For christ sake get behind the team and start cheering them on for change.
