Well the teamsheet didn't bode well for an attack minded lineup and so it showed. Apart from Ward there was very little of note and no real stand out performances, very lethargic and far too static for much of the game. Hull wanted it more, were never really troubled and probably could/should have added more to the scoreline but never needed to extend themselves during the second half.

Not seen a performance as bad as that since the John Duncan era playing teams like Port Vale and Grimsby. No heart, no passion, no movement and it looked like the majority didn't want to be there. Only Celina looked like he wanted to play football and Bart had his usual good game with what little he had to do and the two saves kept a point for us. No shot until the second half and 80 minutes to get one on target summed it up for me and change cannot come too quickly!

A good but not outstanding Bristol City side given far too much time on the ball and allowed to play through us with ease. Along with some help from the referee it was easy for them and we played far too many simple high balls at the two big centre backs which they loved. No one stood out today, however Bart can't really be faulted for any of the goals as two big deflections and a clear header meant he was never getting any of them. Not sure how much losing Adeyemi affected the team but his presence was definitely missed in the centre.

A case of two mediocre sides, QPR being slightly worse than we were. Town looked better the more the game wore on mainly due to QPR pushing further forward to try and get back in it, credit is due to Smithies as after the awful mistake for the second he kept the score respectable.

Will take the 3 points tonight considering for periods of the game we struggled to get going. Maitand-Niles only came into the game when we moved him into a more central position and although Reading never really threatened we were only playing in fits and starts.
Bru gave a different dimension when he came on and that bit of creativity, Fraser started to get that little bit of space to run at people and we settled down. A good goal from Fraser, a silly challenge for the penalty and it looked all over. Pitman does love a late goal though and it has to be the move of the game, not a bad pair of substitutions!
We will play a lot better and get nothing but the three points are more important than the performance.

First half was pretty much two well matched sides with attacking intent that cancelled each other out. With the change in emphasis after the break it was Middlesbrough that began to look the better side with Ipswich making too many simple mistakes in key areas. There was only likely to be one winner after the first (slightly fortunate) goal went in. We are badly missing the creative spark of Bru, Bishop and Fraser so the sooner we get them fit the better we will be for it.
On a different note it was really refreshing to have a good refereeing performance after some of the rubbish we usually get!

To be honest it's not that difficult to write a match report, both sides were poor with little creativity and a big lack of quality. Oar looked good until he collided with Steer and it was no surprise he didn't re-appear. Pitman was winning a lot of headers but not providing much threat and Sears was his usual industrious self without getting much service.
AMN had flashes but was roughed up too much to be effective, while the less said about Douglas the better (Bru must be wondering what he has to do to get back in the side!). Skuse had a reasonable game and the back four were competent without needing to play out of their skins. McGoldrick looked by far the most dangerous when he came on, Murphy tried hard but god only knows what MM sees in Toure!
The ref was woeful and both sides had some awful decisions, the game wasn't helped by Huddersfield players who seemed unable to stand up in even the lightest of wind let alone a challenge. Another one to forget, lets hope this doesn't become the norm at PR.

Wigan came to frustrate and defend, they closed down the midfield and stopped any real flowing football developing. We were collectively having an off day with only Hunt, Tabb and Bru really showing any real spark in the first half and nobody standing out after half time.
A lot of aimless long balls forward, which never really worked with the size and strength of the Wigan side, but we seemed to have no clue how to change the way we were playing.
Overall a poor display with the only real positive being we didn't lose!

Excellent result and a true team performance in the face of a defensive counter attacking side with some decidedly physical challenges.
Never been a fan of Jay Tabb but the last couple of games he has been excellent and didn't disappoint again, the back four looked solid along with Bart and Hunt gave his normal energiser bunny performance.
Williams was always probing and Watford picked on him for their most agricultural challenges, Bishop slotted into his role well when he went off.
Both Murphy and McGoldrick were industrious but credit to Watford as they kept them quieter than in many games.
I am more impressed with Bru every time I see him, he does the hard work but has an eye for a pass and is always looking to get forward. He could be another of those rough diamonds that MM seems to be able to find.
Another game full of positives and it's just unfortunate the international break gets in the way again!

Lacking in quality, very little in the way of creativity and a reliance on long balls up towards the forwards. Hyam, McGoldrick and Mings performed well but there were others who really don't deserve to be on the pitch.....Tabb i'm looking at you!!
I've always been a strong supporter of MM but today for the first time I actually questioned whether he had any tactic other than long ball. We need to be able to switch the play and create options, something we singularly failed to do until Henshall came on.
Norwich didn't look a great side but had more than enough quality to easily cope with our one dimensional play and should in all honesty have made the scoreline bigger than 1-0.
I sincerely hope to see changes next game, we need it.

Hewitt had a great game as well as Skuse and Hyam in the middle, we missed both of them when they were substituted. Mings needs a few games to settle in as was caught out several times and Tabb was full of running but without much end product. Typically efficient defensive performance from Berra, Smith and Chambers and all played well.
Bajner needs time to gel as a partnership but showed glimpses of what he may be able to do, we looked better as a front pair with McGoldrick on but was impressed with the way Murphy bossed their defence.
Early days but a promising start and plenty to build on.
