| Your Report | Sheffield Wednesday v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 18:56:51 Comfortable win. We really performed as a team, with everyone contributing between 6-8. Wednesday keeper deserves a mention for a fine performance. Hladky had very little to do, but was very effective when needed. |
| Your Report | Ipswich Town v Cambridge United Your Report added at 18:18:46 Woolfenden was much better than the score he's getting at the moment (5.6). I think this applies to one or two others too. (Donacien, for example, didn't do much wrong.) I'm not suggesting we were very good today, but maybe things will change as more people vote ... |
| Your Report | Oxford United v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 08:16:24 Obviously disappointing end to proceedings, but the positives far outweigh the negatives these days. We are exciting to watch, consistent (we don’t crumble one minute and play well the next, as we did in the past), and our support is solid. It’s been a long time since ITFC fans could actually enjoy games, but now we can. We can match anyone in this league (which never means you will win them all). As regards Pigott, it’s true it hasn’t worked out for him so far, but I don’t think he really fits the system. He’s probably better playing behind a front man, rather than shouldering that role himself. Bonne is more â€edgy†and does it better. COYB. |
| Your Report | Ipswich Town v Cheltenham Town Your Report added at 21:57:13 Blimey! Some pretty low ratings at the moment for a team that played some excellent football first half and good football in the second. We were never going to win every match. Keep the faith. |
| Your Report | Burton Albion v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 19:38:50 Edwards and Dobra did well. Apart from one lapse, I don't think Woolfy played badly. Much better when we get a passing game going and keep the ball on the ground. Hoofing it upfield to no-one in particular is fairly pointless, and we did a bit too much of this. Burton "penalty" very soft. Couldn't see whether ours was equally soft or more justified. Promising signs, but we need to bring it all together sooner rather than later. |
| Your Report | Fleetwood Town v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 04:56:29 Toto was the only one I noticed who came out of that with any honour. The guy puts himself on the line every time. Anyone who does that is liable to make a mistake from time to time (cf. also Kenlock). Not that I think Toto made any major errors last night. The rest? I’ll leave that to PC. |
| Your Report | Ipswich Town v Sunderland Your Report added at 10:53:44 Dozzell & Bishop in more forward mid roles. Drinan and Sears up front - at least while no-one else (e.g. Norwood) is available. Someone else to take Dozzell's place in holding role - McGavin hasn't done badly when called on. Edwards on left, Thomas on right. Woolf and McG central backs. Sorted! (Apart from RB and LB, and here I don't have a ready solution). |
| Your Report | Ipswich Town v Burton Albion Your Report added at 22:05:01 Poor game, but a win's a win. Good ref for once. Didn't fall for play acting, and as a result there wasn't too much of same. Peterboro will be a different story. Just how, we shall see... |
| Your Report | Sunderland v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 21:52:10 Two awful decisions by the ref cost us the game. Well played by all the boys tonight in a match we deserved to win, or at the very worst to draw. Keep up that level and we'll be ok. Surely we are due some better luck next time. |
| Your Report | Lincoln City v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 19:27:39 Well, I'm going to need to look at the "penalty"again because at the time it looked like an awful decision. Didn't deserve to win, but didn't deserve to lose either. No-one (ITFC) played badly for me, but no-one shone either. Some good spells but no goal threat. We move on... |
| Your Report | Exeter City v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 17:44:58 Blimey! The match was a very close run thing. Can’t see any reason, other than frustration, for the wide difference in scores between their players and ours. Even Teddy is currently under 5 at the moment, and he surely had a good game. We weren’t THAT bad! |
| Your Report | Ipswich Town v Gillingham Your Report added at 05:31:43 Pretty much agree with all of the above, except I thought Kenlock did ok - he made one or two runs on the left and put in a couple of crosses if my memory serves me right. Agree about the passing - better than the A team, although against poor opposition Thoroughly entertaining match. PL said he’s never seen a team dominate for 90. We weren’t far off last night! |
| Your Report | Peterborough United v Ipswich Town Your Report added at 18:44:15 I wonder what the final-score statistics are for teams that score first very early on. As soon as we did this, I somehow predicted the outcome. Early goals nearly always seem to change the balance of the game, often in favour of the side that has just gone behind. Glad to salvage a point at the end, but we need more goal threat and more competent defending. (Woolfenden looks the part, though.) COYB! |
