So, 3-0 in the end and the gallant run is over. Apparently 'lots of tears were shed'. No disgrace though and hats off to you all. ................................... But Athletico Madrid probably deserved it over two legs. |
| Forum Thread | Number 9 shirt at 07:50 3 Aug 2017
Top Tips Instead of buying a striker, spray an area of the pitch with a blue no. 9 shirt. This will provide a target for defenders, save a few quid and help prevent any false optimism of a goal-laden season. Any talk of hanging a shirt from Row Z is, however, just facetiousness. I've been pondering.... If we played against Ipswich, how do you think we'd do? My money would definitely be on an away win. How would we set up against ourselves? Would the 'away Ipswich' sit deep and try to counter with Sears, Celina, etc's pace? Would the 'home Ipswich' stick to nervous hoofing? We'd get a decent crowd though, as Ipswich are still pretty popular as visitors and people still expect the 'Ipswich way' of playing. Any thoughts? |

Dear admin, Why do the reports of our League Cup First Round always say 'Town have been handed an away draw at xxxxxxx', when in fact we always go on to lose? Every June, I pass on this good news to my eight-year-old son, only to see the devastation on his little face every August. In future, could you please correct the reports to read 'Town have been handed a home/away defeat at xxxxxxxx'? Yours gratefully, Mr WF Rice |

What DID happen when the boys from Norwich City went to Rome to see the Pope? |

I think we should see the Transfer Window differently. Save the cash that we'd have given to a spolit, journeyman flouncer - and his agent - and recruit/train young players who actually appreciate where they are in life, who can grow up as good footballers and as good people and who ENJOY playing football, so we can ENJOY watching football again. We don't want 'guaranteed success', just local kids playing passing football, flashes of class, an ambition to score more goals than the opposition, a will to win, a friendly Portman Road atmosphere, reasonable ticket prices (just ask other clubs) and a feeling of belonging. None of those can be bought today. |

"I thought we did ok. I can't ask any more from my players. The lads gave it their all. At the end of the day, the transfer window is a good side. It's got some very good players and we're up against it financially. The window took its chances and we didn't. Simple. A couple of daft defensive errors and we were punished. But we'll regroup ready for the summer." "...oh, and Tabby and Chambo were different class." [Post edited 30 Jan 2017 18:00]

Jonathan Douglas clearly came out of a Christmas cracker. But is he the pathetic imitation of a hat, the unfunny joke or the useless piece of plastic crap that you don't know want to do with? |
