From what I deduce from what has been published thus far, it appears as though a number of professional sportsmen have paid another professional sportsman to deliberately perform badly at their profession.
This is not like Laudrup stating that he is not against players being paid by a third party who are set to gain from a positive result.
It is more like an Italian defender conceding an own goal so an opposition club don`t get relegated.
(This defender is available currently and he is only 26yrs).
Call me old fashioned but I am very unhappy with all these scenarios.
An addict is called an addict for a reason. Whether Rocky is the ringleader or easily lead he has serious problems in the same way George Best had serious problems with alcohol, life long problems.
There is an issue that should concern management ie the influence he could have on younger, (relatively poorly paid) professionals at the club. |
