Good players we have in the squad now , its up to Mick to pick a winning formation and team ,which he did not do on Saturday ,he went for safety first ,which at home vs a side who are new , new to the division and with a new manager was absolutely shocking. Had the subs been made with 20 mins left then we may of got something as the havoc caused by varney and best was there for all to see. The tactical side of the game and game management is not MMs strength. See the thing is ,if villa had scored with 20 mins left then barney and best would of been on far earlier. Thats why amongst other reasons too ,I've lost all faith. It the beginning of the season and safe and sterile is over us. If we had him on loan for the season but got just 20 games out of him , that may just make the difference between top 6 and mid table isn. Fact is he offers that dynamic creating ability ,draws players towards him and opens space for others. GET IT DONE |

All 3 are to old and offer no future. If they were free then fine. There must be either good lower league potentials or loan from prem club. Look at that lad Bristol city got on a season loan from Chelsea . Can't stop scoring. We've got a past it forward who can't score in Vardy. Don't want more of the same. |

What a fantastic well written summery. I am personally worried about MM and his track record in the transfer market. If you look at his very long list of signings then it's about 1 in 5 who make it into the first team with any credibility. He also has a sq peg round hole mentality. Chambers , Sears to name just two. So we could blow the cash on poor signings very easily. Players signing from lower leagues are a safer bet. Something to prove they tend to give their all.

Mental health issues are so underestimated. Ultimately its an illness that is or can be severe. Our system fails those in need of help. The fact he was killed simply because he needed help is a huge tragedy. There is no point in saying could the police not have restrained a 48 year old man by other means other than taser by alleged multiple use. Tragic just tragic. RIP. |

In the past Berra Chambers Skuse Murphy have played well above their actual ability , those 4 players form last season ,this pre season and so far in the last 2 league games is actually exactly where it should be. These guys are division 1. So thats part of the problem ,the next one is we do not seem to have a plan ,or the players to execute the plan , sadly there are numerous reasons for this the main one being the inability of our manager to coach a squad to become a team of on the front foot players , MM said during the week you had to play really badly to get dropped ,well really badly those 4 are ,so drop them ,get some balance in the side and go for it. $ goals conceded so far are all soft goals ,which proves as a unit we do not work. I predicted 16th at the start of the season, it could be worse.Sadly. |

DIRTYOLDNODGER basically ,our preseason was poor , we were diabolical vs barnsley 1st half and have just been outplayed and lost vs stevenage. Our preseason games did nothing to enhance belief. Its well known our squad has played better than its actual ability for a couple of years. That all changed from January this year. So yes all is not well with our squad ,its not performing and back up players are way below standard. The management by Mcarthy is at best rigid i.e. he really knows only one way. If you would like to add what is great about our results during 2016 including preseason i would be delighted to here a balanced perspective from you. |

I also think people on here that go and watch will have a similar view to me , where as perhaps those that don't may just disagree. Let me tell you all is not well with our squad ,we looked burnt out in preseason , against barnsley we got lucky to a degree , against stevenage we looked 2nd best , lets see how we do vs brentford who have had a terrible start to the season. Are we good enough to win vs a poor form side. Time will tell. |

MMs management of certain players is odd. Take Sears for example ,if you play someone like him out of position and make him run like a dog eventually he will go lame. Which by all accounts he looked the other night. Most wide midfield players have overlapping full backs to cover the ground in front of them. Sears does not get this from Chambers ,who has DNA to defend first ,so crossing the half way line is alien to him. The situation with our left back is different ,he will try and get forward but his delivery is division 1 at best. Centre mid is rigid for us and in other teams its fluid. Sears gets done and if he doesn't its all very last ditch. Since late December last year we have looked disjointed and easy to open up. I don't think anything has changed. I have predicted we will finish 16th if the current players remain as first choice. |

The players we had under keane were not good enough for him even though he signed most of them. Just before he started we beat card if 3.0 at home ,he was watching in the stands , fantastic performance full of pace power and vigour. Sadly he then fcuked it up , by being aloof as if he were better than the place. Now we have big thick mick , its funny , but he loves the club and his job here ,but i think he's to thick to realise what will get us promotion ,one thing is use your squad and don't flog the guts out of them. |

Full backs are vital in this day and age as creators. Noticed the stats for last season , our full backs had 3 assists between them all season. The top 6 all had in excess of 10 assists from full backs. This is in open play. We lack in that department, Hope that changes . Hers hoping for a great and exciting season. |

Im worried about Barnsley too , not least as we seem to be work in progress all over again , whilst they have enhanced an already vibrant and dynamic group with some good signings. There centre midfield is also very fluid. Ours is like the results of to much viagra , stiff ! |

My appetite is now wet again and whilst i did not renew my season ticket i will be going tomorrow. Cant help it , love for the club greater than poor tactics and entertainment. Lets hope the entertainment factor is far greater than last year

Mullet means that as the loan is for a full season it would be interesting if someone for example came in for him in the January window would we have to release him . |
