| News Comment | Keogh Signing Confirmed at 10:06:16
blueboy1981 - or the player who stops the opposition scoring? I assume he is very much as well as not instead of an attacking player... I think we miss Chambers and that true leadership at the back, we are still prone to unnecessary errors which allows teams in and then they shut up shop and our job is twice as hard! |
| News Comment | Departing Skipper Chambers Truly Humbled at 13:52:45
I have been a fan for many years and even against the greats this guy is an absolute legend. He bled blue..... His love for the club was undoubted and he was despite what a few 'numpties' believe a good footballer. A centre back who could score goals, lead the line and play at right back, what's not to like. I am gutted he didn't get the Portman Road send off he absolutely deserved I for one would have been on my feet cheering! |

Understand there was also a third penalty shout against Nsiala🙄 |
| News Comment | Town Down to Third at 08:38:32
Diss boy his “weekend team” is that as opposed to his “mid-week team”? 😂. Equally by November those players still coming back to full fitness should be at full strength and others such as Nsala and possibly Sears will be back. Although I agree it's a little bit of an odd move always prefer points on the table to games in hand. |
| News Comment | Lambert: We’ll Be in the Fight, Absolutely No Doubt About That at 21:28:23
I love the fact people keep going on about changing the defence - great idea and bring in who exactly? We hardly have a plethora of talent waitinrvin the wings! Went today, Sears worked his socks off, Skuse looked assured and Teddy showed signs of why he is such a talent, that's about all the positive I can bring. |
| News Comment | Lambert: I Couldn’t Have Asked Any More of Them, They Gave Us Everything at 18:28:01
He kicked every ball - fantastic leadership and if anyone is capable of saving us he is. Comments such as Roberts hasn't played or trained much this season make you realise just how rotten the previous managment team were - I remember reading Hurst slating Roberts yet today he showed real potential. Lovely to read the positivity of Lambert - that breeds belief and that's what we desperately need now, we may go down but if we do we will fight to the death - under Hurst we would have been down by Christmas |
| News Comment | Lambert: Really Pleased With the Lads in Training at 18:31:37
An arm around the shoulder is what many of these lads currently need, I get the impression Hurst an Doig were more of a kick up the jacksy kind of managers which don't get me wrong is needed at times, but don't kick a team of men when they are already down!!! It seems they almost came here with the view the players were not good enough and clearly instilled that belief in them! |
| News Comment | Town Topic: Memories of The Beat at 23:01:09
As a young girl in the 70s and early 80s I watched the Beat play and was then lucky enough to meet him personally when my son became the original tractor boy - over several years I spent Saturday lunchtime chatting to Kevin and what a fantastic kind caring and funny man he was. I feel really quite emotional... my son and daughter were around 5 and 7 when they first met him and he treated them with so much respect. As Dan gradually grew up each Saturday reporting on Town with the Beat, they became really good friends - and I know Dan felt so lucky to have met a true Town legend, even if he was way too young to ever see him play. The banter between the two of them was fantastic... a legend on and off the pitch x |
| News Comment | Hurst: I Really Enjoyed it Apart From Their Goal at 17:29:41
Pleases to hear is up and about that looked nasty, shame as he was controlling the midfield pretty well. I have seen us play worse and win games but I do think we lack quality, we haven't got that gem of a loan signing from previous years - quantity over quality this year. Huws cannot come back quick enough. |
| News Comment | Gerken Starts as Bart Dropped in Much-Changed Town Derby Line-Up at 11:48:11
None of us know what's going on in Barts head, maybe he just isn't in a good place right now for whatever reason and so a major Derby was maybe one step too far and he needs the international break to recoup. We can all have an opinion but at the end of the day none of us know what's going on mentally or what's happening on the training pitch. Good on you PH for having the balls to make Such a change and let's hope Bart comes out of it stronger and ready to be no 1 again. |
| News Comment | Suffolk Constabulary Can't Appeal Matchday Policing Costs Ruling at 12:52:41
Something has to give, either Council tax goes up or our houses are at risk when we are at the game as the police cannot afford additional officers - so if they are at the game they are not having a presence elsewhere!! We get very little financial support from the Govenment, one of the lowest per head in the country so something has to give. Don't musical festivals etc have to pay for police presence? Other issue is if the police are “free” outside the ground can you imagine the club paying for many to be inside? |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Derby County - Match Report at 19:57:24
Fair point heathen I just don't see how you can compare him to Skuse who is so composed in midfield and a massive loss today. Mcgoldrick was ineffective but Ward did better central than he had out wide |
| News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-2 Derby County - Match Report at 18:53:06
tractorlegend some great points. Heathen66 are you having a laugh? Bru was awful, run around like a headless checkin offered nothing defensively or in attack absolute joke to compare him to Skuse. Our game picked up when he left the pitch that's no coincidence. Thought Mcgoldrick was terrible - actually couldn't work out why smith didn't come on but clearly Mick wanted Iofra to offer an attacking option which he for once actually did - not a fan but thought he did well. Both CB had been awful before the change. I am also sick of Garner never going for a header but going to ground every time - refs are not falling for it and we end up losing possession. |
