Dr Who...
at 09:55 23 Nov 2023

Full disclosure, I didn't manage to sneak any Town references in this time, but if you enjoyed the Rise and Fall of Britpop, you might also like these Dr Who Documentaries, which follow a similar pattern but cramming 60 years in to 114 minutes.

New Britpop podcast
at 07:17 10 Jul 2023

Morning,
Not Town related (other than the fact that Lammo mentions attending the 78 cup final in this), but I think this new podcast will be up some of your streets.

The first four episodes of #TheRiseandFallofBritpop are live now on BBC Sounds presented by Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq they take a warts and all look at the cultural phenomenon… there are amazing stories about everyone from Nirvana and the Manics through to Radio 1, Oasis, The NME and The Spice Girls along the way. Please download, subscribe, have a listen and if you enjoy it please spread the word 🫀

Four more episodes drop next Monday.

Morning all,

Not Town related, but given the amount of music chat on here I think it will appeal to some of you... The Rise and Fall of Britpop https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0fy6nnn
8 episodes of Britpop goodness (and badness)

I've even managed to sneak it an excellent Town clip as long as the lawyers don't make me take it out.

Weird def info of the day…
at 22:00 8 Jun 2023

Was walking down towards St Stephens Church this evening and I’m almost certain I was briefly stood next to Danny Cowley near The Walk. Let’s hope he popped by to watch 86TVs at Brighten the Corners and isn’t being lined up as replacement for KMac 💀

Looks like I’ve got a spare ticket for Bristol away on Tuesday thanks to a flakey mate.
DM if you are in need. Can hand it over in Ipswich tomorrow or Bristol on Tuesday.

Due to some extraordinary bad luck I’m not in the country for 3 of our 4 first matches. Does anyone know if you can pay for ifollow overseas on a uk based card? I seem to remember you couldn’t do that when the system first came in.

Three hour 1978 Radio Special....
at 08:32 8 May 2018

In Case you missed it…

On Sunday Mark Murphy was live from Portman Road for a show celebrating the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup win. He caught up with Roger Osborne, George Burley, Paul Mariner, Mick Lambert, John Wark, Mick Mills and regular Radio Suffolk legend Kevin Beattie.

The cast of Our Blue Heaven (including the superb Bobby Robson) sang a spine tingling rendition of abide with me…

6 Music’s Steve Lamacq gave his big match review of the West Brom Semi Final… and Mark even uncovered a previously unheard Panorama documentary about the infamous Millwall Quarter Final…

Plus there were highlights from the final played out in real time...and of course Phil Ham (sadly Mark didn’t think to ask him his favourite biscuit)… If you want to wallow in 78 nostalgia I really couldn’t recommend it enough...

2000/2001 season review...

Has anyone spotted this on line anywhere?
Watched that Sky documentary earlier and fancy a trip down memory lane.
The relegation and promotion seasons seem easy to find, but no sign of that one.

If you have a UK subscription and go abroad, can you then access iFollow video or does it rely on an overseas subscription from the get go. Might have a few work trips on game days so just looking hoping....

I see we've got our own right wing firm now, what fun...blurred faces, bald heads, Stone Island and a Union Jack - text book b3ll3nds.

Frankly if I was the club I'd be having this away on the door prior to the scum game. Rightwing PR live on Sky is the last thing we need.

Curry delivery in Ipswich...

Can anyone recommend a good Curry for delivery in Ipswich? Used to use Gulshan back in the day, but they seem to have shut down. Tried Maharani after looking on TripAdvisor but wasn't very impressed.
