He hates Norwich these days - they hate him because he left for a bigger club (mind you he could have gone to Norwich Utd to do that). He likes stuffing them 7-1 as well. Delia will be disgusted - which in itself is worth the appointment. One quick mention of joining the only club in Anglia to win major trophies and he will unite all fans behind him. He will know what will go down well with ITFC fans - he is that type of bloke. |

Does that mean Phil has a safe for Ultra Secret info in TWTD towers? Why are you not in the 'circle of trust' Gav? Did you give Delia Phil's secret recipe for Welsh Rarebit? |

I think there is a difference looking at Burley- a former PL manager of the year- compared to a real sentimental option like Gunn at the scumsters for example. With Burley it makes sense - a lack of sense quite clearly lays at Evans door. |

Good effective football wins matches - I remember going to games in the -96-2000 era knowing whatever happened in the match we would outplay teams - not because we had better players but because we played effective passing football. The same could happen again now. Those banged hard/fast one touch triangle passes our midfield did back then shifted the play before the opposition could react - then we had a fast sticker DJ to get into the space created. That was Burley's way. Get him in - get a couple of midfielders who can pass in the window - Jackson and Sears although not great could do the DJ & Scowey- role for the time being. What people forget is to stay up you don't need many wins - but to get some you have a chance of scoring. GET BURLEY IN! He is old - but his football is still progressive. |
| Forum Reply | Is Burley even a realistic option for Evans? at 10:38 25 Oct 2018
Disagree entirely - the ironic thing about the Burley option is, that despite his age, he represents a more progressive route: passing football, faith in youth, love for the club. His ideology is superb. We are skint (artificially as Evans is loaded) -Burley works well in those conditions. If we go down - it will allow him to 95/96 era work - clear out the dross and build again. Some of the best coaches in history have done the business at a more advanced age. Have Holland board to take over in due course. |

Get them in - If we stay up - What fun we will have doing it & going forward. If we go down - we were fecked anyway & got the chance to enjoy watching real passing football again. |

I find this far more worrying and defeatist from Hurst: “But let’s not kid ourselves, we were second favourites to be relegated at the start of the season, so we are clearly are not the best team in the Championship". Imagine if he had said that to Evans in his interview or in the first press conference of the season. |

If we had made Cat 1 would we have been in a position to rebuff such a bid? |
