McCarthy's post match interview...

McCarthy's post match interview didn't reveal much. Hopefully he's just playing his cards close to his chest.

New manager...meh!
at 22:33 23 Oct 2012

It concerns me that Jewell's resignation/sacking will do nothing to change things. We all thought Evans was our saviour but the spiral of decline continues unabated. T

The debate isn't about who's going to be the next manger , it should be about how the club is run from the very top....but then I think we all know that anyway.

New manager? Meh, who cares?

Negativity - what's the point
at 00:50 16 Sep 2012

Have to say, I'm disappointed with the OTT whinging that always greets me when I come on here.

Yes the table doesn't look great but we've got two winnable home games coming up and the league is still tight. I genuinely believe the nervousness and negativity of our fans transmits to the players and is one of the reasons why we've underachieved recently.

Hopefully all the moaners will stay away on Wednesday and a supportive crowd of 13,000 or so will see a decent performance.

Blueasfook et al. why don't you just disappear...cheers!

Stupid question....
at 21:38 12 Aug 2012

...but if you're in the middle of a thread on page 4, for example, and you want to go back to the top of that page what's the quickest way? If I click Forum Index it just takes me back to page 1 so I have to keep pressing the back button to get back to where I was. This was always a minor irritation on the old version as well.

I assume everyone must have calmed down by now...

Anyway, regardless of how much they charge for the rearranged game, if we win it'll probably be worth it! I can also think of one or two other games I wish we'd had abandoned over that last few seasons.

Not entirely sure what my point is, but unpredictability is the beauty of sport and that's why it's not easy to put a price on it, or compare it to other forms of entertainment. Sometimes you just have to accept that.

Moaners keep out...
at 18:10 14 Jan 2012

I haven't read any other posts yet, but if anyone feels the need to moan or feel pessimistic after watching that then they need a sanity check.

If we could play like that every week then I don't care if we get relegated (which we wouldn't). We were up for it, playing with energy & width and looked liked scoring - I'd watch that in any league.

Okay, we lost confidence and looked incredibly fragile for the last 20 minutes, but I'm convinced that would disappear if we could string together a few more performances like that.

A big plus for me was the fact we played with 10 outfield player who were OUR players.

Without the loan players and several of the OAPs in the side, what we lacked in experience we made up for with desire and youthful exuberance. Why persist with expensive ineffective, injury prone, uncommitted old crocks when we can nurture our own talents like Hyam, Smith, JET, Carson, Cresswell etc. At least they'll still be assets in couple of years and not on some golf course getting fat off my and your hard earned money.

From what I saw we today we just need a couple of additions, instead of a new manger and another huge turnover in playing staff. A more defensively aware right back is a must and another quality central defender (plus maybe an unknown young gem plucked from obscurity).

Yes, I'm still feeling disappointed and hurt, but I also feel like we saw a way out of this mess today.

Here's a novel idea...
at 22:13 11 Jan 2012

...how about everyone goes away and channels the injustice of tonight into a concerted effort to get three points on Saturday.

Hopefully the players will use the anger to their advantage and the keyboard warriors can save all their pent up aggression and let it become a positive force on the terraces on Saturday?

No?

Ok then, Jewell out!
