I don’t remember how old I was or even who I first heard this old proverb from, but it stuck with me and is something I have reminded myself of a fair few times over the years.
There is a recurring theme on this site and many other topic boards about the perceived poor attendances at Portman Road and what can be done to increase attendances.
Intriguing, exciting, funny, frustrating, exhausting, anti-climactic. These are just a few of the emotions I experience on transfer deadline day. I love it, but would it be better to return to the situation of old where player trading can take place all season long?
The day always comes when one of you has to say it. It’s one of the most important words muttered and to some it means so much and to others it just rolls of their tongue but means nothing to them. I’m talking about the only word that truly makes you feel excited and nervous at the same time. Loan.
I think it’s human nature to be just a little sceptical, maybe even afraid of things which hide away in dark places. As children we’re told of stories of bogey men and cupboard monsters, mainly as our parents telling us the stories find our fear amusing (I know that’s why I scare my kids) but from it we form the opinion that anybody or anything which isn’t prepared to be seen in the light of day isn’t to be trusted.
As a young boy I loved collecting ProSet cards. Readers of the same generation as me will know what I’m talking about and for those of a younger generation the best way to describe them would be to say they were a better version of Match Attax.
Please help. It’s 4am and I’m lying in bed, staring at the ceiling wondering whether or not I should go. I’ve been having these feelings for a while now but recently they are more frequent and I find myself in this predicament nearly every week.
If you went for a job interview and suspected the management team interviewing you were unlikely to be with the company within a year, would you join? I wouldn’t. Why risk the current job security you currently enjoy? Surely waiting for the right job elsewhere would be more sensible?
