Keane Yet to Move for Wood Saturday, 31st Oct 2009 09:59 Town boss Roy Keane has not yet made a move for Sheffield Wednesday defender Richard Wood. The Owls have transfer-listed the 24-year-old who the Blues tried to sign in August. While Keane hasn't talked to his former Nottingham Forest team-mate Brian Laws regarding Wood, he doesn’t rule out a possible future move: “If we think he can improve our squad, we’re looking at players all the time. But I’ve not spoken to Lawsy about any of his players recently.” Keane says he is unconcerned with summer signing Tamás Priskin’s slow start to his Town career: “There are certain players that need longer to settle in at clubs than others and I think Tamás is one of them. I think the boy’s a talented lad, no doubt about it. “The run of internationals didn’t help him. On two occasions he was away for three weeks at different times and that’s not helped the boy, but he’s trained well this week and he’ll be involved against Derby. I’m very comfortable with Tamás.” The Blues boss has again said how appreciative he is of the Town crowd: “I’ve criticised supporters in the past, but the support the fans here have given my team has been fantastic, particularly for the younger players. “When you look back at the Watford game, where we had the hammer blow in injury time and could have won the game five or six-nil with the chances we had, and we then got applauded off the pitch, when you’re a player walking off, they are the things you remember. “Hopefully, if we can turn it round there will be some good days ahead and we can say, ‘listen, we appreciated the support we got in the bad times’.” Meanwhile, a report in Portugal has linked Town, Portsmouth and Birmingham with moves to sign 20-year-old Benfica central defender Miguel Vitor on loan in January. Pompey are said to be the favourites for the Portuguese U21 international’s signature with talks having already started. Elsewhere, former Blue Marcus Bent has joined Middlesbrough on loan from Birmingham.
