Trio Get Northern Ireland Call
Wed 10th Mar 2010 11:11

Academy trio Josh Carson, Rory McKeown and Cormac Burke have been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their European U17 Championship elite round mini-tournament later this month.

The Northern Irish youngsters face Belgium, Spain and Poland in the tournament which they are hosting from March 17–22.

After two recent friendlies with Norway, which ended 4-3 and 0-2, coach Paul Kee named midfielder Carson as one of the members of his squad showing most potential: "We've some really promising players including Luke McCullough [Loughgall], who could be in the senior side very soon. James Knowles [Blackburn Rovers] and Josh Carson are also boys to watch out for."

Left-back McKeown and midfielder Carson joined the academy as scholars last summer, while midfielder Burke will be full-time at Playford Road from next season.
