Hull Confirm Bullard Loan Deal as Jewell Moves to Make Austin First Permanent Signing
Hull Confirm Bullard Loan Deal as Jewell Moves to Make Austin First Permanent Signing
Thursday, 27th Jan 2011 11:01

Hull City have confirmed that Jimmy Bullard has completed his loan move to the Blues, as revealed by TWTD last night. Bullard was at Portman Road for talks yesterday and will be with Town until the end of the season.

The 32-year-old is training with the squad this morning and is likely to be paraded at a Portman Road press conference later today.

According to reports in East Yorkshire, Town will be paying only £10,000-a-week of the midfielder’s £45,000 weekly wage. Bullard will not be able to play in the game between the Blues and Hull on 19th February at Portman Road.

Bullard will become Paul Jewell’s first Blues signing, while the new Town boss’s first permanent addition to his squad is likely to be either Luton’s Andy Drury or Swindon’s Charlie Austin with TWTD understanding that the Blues have emerged as surprise late favourites for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Drury, 27, had been expected to sign earlier in the week but there is understood to be an issue regarding the payment of the £150,000 fee. Luton want the cash up front, while the Blues are believed to have offered it over three instalments of £50,000.

Coventry and Sheffield United have also been linked with the former Stevenage man.

Wow, this is a great way to do business.

I hear Kaká is warming Real Madrid's bench.

I speak Spanish, shall we offer them 12,000K / week?

12K a week for kaka? Excellent signing. Delighted if this comes off, Austin and Bullard would be great additions to the team.

Welcome to the club Jimmy !!
I was watching the compilation video of his best bits on you tube (nothing football related) but if he brings that much spirit to the dressing room i can't wait to see how the players react to him on the pitch!!
PLUS with Bullard and Martin i hope we can start beating the last man when it comes to Corners!!

I will run down the street with my arm in the air if we get Austin. I've been saying it for ages, he is exactly the type of player we should be getting.

It feels so good to have an intelligent manager in charge.

Nice one! I wonder why we have an issue with paying Luton the money up front?

10K a week is a great bit of business. He will bring the 'enjoymnent factor' to the club that PJ has said he wanted. Let's hope he stays fit enough for us to benefit from his presence on the pitch.

Charlie Austin would also be a good signing with Scotland back off to Swansea.

Another signing to help kick that ball in the net. But coming from a conference side you, the most you can expect from him is to help rearrange the chairs on the Titanic. Come on you ball kickers.

10k a week isn't bad considering what I suspected, though if he's only fit for 1 in 4 games it becomes more alarming, we shall see.
On the other hand Charlie Austin, excellent news. Great player, plenty to prove, consistent goalscorer. Austin would be our best signing in years

Anyone remember the last free scoring forward we signed from Swindon?
Sorry not really being negative, I'm sure Austin will be better than Super Sam!

Bullard is quality. Know a few Fulham fans who (before they hated him) said he was class. Distribution and work rate awesome. On the negative side, talking to Hull fan today in the office and he reckons that cos of his knee injury, he won't make any tackles, as lives in fear of getting injured again. So will need someone to do the crunching while he does the nice stuff!

Bullard is a great character and good player, now sign Charlie Austin and we are looking up the table without doubt!
