Consistently poor distribution from the back, no spark in midfield, and even Murph was out-muscled up front - a very disappointing & frustrating display all round. Skuse probably the pick of the Town players; Mings has gone off the boil, though as Mick says it's his 1st full season at this level.

Goal was a poor one to concede - I felt that the the defender (Mings or Berra?) shouldn't have let Mackie get the shot away in the 1st place, and then that Bart should have got a glove to it. Reading then spent the next 76 minutes time wasting (which the Ref seemed OK with).

We need to step up a gear (or 3) for next Sunday!

Mings and Smith really poor today...

Ipswich start at their usual frantic speed but fail to take early chances. Mings gives freedom of the park to the man he's supposed to be marking and Reading score. Ipswich enter brainless mode, which they maintain for the rest of the match.

Winning the toss was the last thing to go right, we were a very average championship side today without the desire which has seen us over achieve. It was clear that with Eddie (I don,t like booking players who injure Johnny Wiliams) Ilderton as referee it was clear physical challenges would be allowed, we needed to meet fire with fire. Murphy wore a mask but clearly did not realish going for headers - so we kept pumping the ball up to him to head. Mings did not look at it today, no desire, poor passing etc. Smith needs dropping, his first thought is to go back, decision making poor, hesitant too. It is time for Chambers to go to CB to allow our best full back, Parr to take his place.

I felt taking off Bishop was not the right thing to do, Tabb had been more effective than some but was taken off with a bizarre move of Parr to midfield. Frustrating is the way to describe today, we had Stewart on the bench so why not take the gamble? And as for time wasting I think Reading and Frederici in particular have taken it to a new level.

Powder puff finishing by Town, one decisive finish by Reading. Tactical battle won by Clarke as his team then strangled the game with constant time wasting.

A clear indication of the lack of investment in the team. Why is Darren Bent playing for our rivals! I think Mick has done a fantastic job, but has reached the limit this squad and investment will allow. If we manage to stay in the playoff positions I will be surprised with this level of performance. Terrible game.

Town looked lively and dangerous until the Reading goal which came against the run of play. Town never looked to have the same ambition after conceding

Barty

Very poor performance after Reading scored against the run of play.
We need to pass the ball much quicker to feet
We were far too negative
We have failed to score in four of the last five home games- that's a worry
I really cant understand why so many of our players just don't seem interested ???
We can still make automatic promotion but Mick needs to install some pride & urgency in our game
