That's better - a Saturday evening we can ALL enjoy.

A few positional / formation changes today that many have been advocating - didn't think it would take McCarthy too long to start rounding the situation up.

Shame Chopra hasn't got what DJ has - or even a small percentage of it !!. What a waste of a signing !!.

COYB.

At last!! A home win, players playing with passion and giving the supporters something to celebrate. Good team formation, Smith, NDaw and DJ immense. Midfield looked a good unit while Carlos grew back into what should be his favoured position, delivering a great cross for DJ to expertly finish.

Thought N'Daw and NRC worked really well together and stood out, along with Smith, Edwards and Campbell. Cresswell had a better game too. Encouraging and so nice to get a win at home.
Need to keep Carlos at right mid and try and sign Campbell.
I personally would send Henderson and Murphy back. Wickham up alongside DJ ??

For the first time in many months, we have a home win and performance to be proud of!
The match was fairly even early on with Burnley showing some nice touches but with no cutting edge. We slowly started to dominate the match and were the better side at half time.
An early second half goal was just what the doctor ordered and the ref, who had not given us a thing up until them, for me correctly adjudged that Murphy had not fouled the keeper. We continued to play well but then started to sit back far too much and were punished when Burnley equalised with pretty much they're only effort on target.
However unlike the previous matches this season, that didn't lead to us capitulating but actually pushing on and Campbell's superb goal produced wild celebrations on the pitch and in the stands!
We then saw out the remainder of the game without worry.
Edwards had his best game in over a year, whilst Wellens, Reo-Coker, DJ and N'Daw all played well.
Make no mistake this was a vital victory and gives us all hope that we may still stay up. Long way to go but a step in the right direction and its lovely to walk away from a home game with a smile on my face for once!!

welcome back tommy smith won more in the air today than chambers has since he has been here. ndaw was quality alongside reocoko who is showing what he has got now. wellens was ok but kept drifting inside. carlos has still got somthing to offer as a winger and unlike other players has an end product although prob should have shot. murphy still a bit in and out. dj is a goal scorer at this level. cressy is still a work in progress but making progress. jet showed his talent with a sublime pass to start the winning goal. rest did their jobs. finaly MM tactics and formation right lets keep it up. a smiley evening at last

Well what a change to see all the players in their best positions. PJ would never have got 6 points from those three games! My take on the team:-
Keeper ok but no better than Loach
Chambers slow into stride but better than Edwards
Smith made good return even though right side not his best
Higginbottom steady and seems to be directing the defence
Cress well good game
N'Daw my mom and can only get better
Wellens is too slow for me and was shown up by their midfield so no loss if he goes back
Carlos forgot his new role in first half but much better in second and should have scored
Reo di ok
Murphy is miles better in central role and played well
Cam bell must stay to end of season, he just knows where the goal is
