Very poor performance we resorted to hoof ball football throughout. Difficult to criticise the strikers as had to feed off scraps. Midfield terribly poor and defence shaky, with the exception of Orr who was solid. Marlon Hardwood had three one on one's and should have had a hat trick, Cresswell in particular struggled to cope. Ultimately happy with an undeserved point. We really do need more from our Wiseman, Edwards in particular is not performing would much rather have Jet playing. We also need to find a quality midfielder who can control a game.

Whilst MM has done a great job in getting us out of the bottom three with some good performances away the long suffering home fans still having to put up with too much rubbish.

Very poor performance today, Barnsley and Harewood in particular could have had three or four on another day. We definitely seem to struggle at home against the supposed weaker sides who come and try and frustrate us. The only positive i would say about the home draws with Bristol. Pboro and today is that i think a few months ago we would have lost all of those games.
Orr was my MOM today followed by Chambers, the rest really were poor. Think Murphy is unlucky to be on the bench although would only play him if up front , not wide again.

Yet another very disappointing home performance today in which Town at least grabbed an undeserved point. Harewood was OUR star player today missing 3 clear cut chances for a Barnsley side that always looked more composed on the ball with Mellis and Perkins bossing the midfield.
Goldrick looked the best attacker on the pitch but received very poor service, while Orr looked the pick of the rest of the Town team. On a more positive note, at least our luck is turning as a few months ago this would have been another home defeat.

Poor performance in difficult conditions, but lets be honest it was freezing and players were struggling to stay on thier feet. For me the team is not that bad we just need two good wide players, Edwards looks past it now as a wide midfielder and Martin I would sell him quick for whatever we can get, as no end product, can't tackle and he will never score!

For the third home game in a row our midfield never turned up!

The defence looked poor because they were under constant pressure, since we had no midfield, and service to our front two consisted of lumping up high hopefully balls to them. A better team than Barnsley would have destroyed us today.

Our defence is progressing and we have a big choice of strikers but our midfield is woeful, at least at home. Cant see Edwards or Martin getting new contracts on their showing today.

As far as I can see this has to be viewed as a point gained rather than two lost. Harewood should have had a hat-trick at least, and that was just the first half. If Barnsley had anything half-decent up front then they would surely be higher up the league than they are. Under MM I never fear the collapses that we saw under Jewell, but we never look like scoring many either. With two predominantly defensive players in the middle we really need something from the flanks but lately at home there has been nothing. Away from home we can hit teams on the break but at Portman Rd. we lack the wit to unlock even the weakest defences.

I was impressed with McGoldrick, whether he'll score the goals remains to be seen but he looks a proper footballer, a skillful link-man. Unfortunately he had no service whatsoever; you could have Robin Van Persie up front but if he gets nothing from midfield he'll struggle. Especially at home we need to take more chances occasionally and commit a few more men going forwards if we want to win games.

Survival is still the number one priority this season and you have to say that MM is the man for the job. Going forwards though the squad needs some serious investment if we're not going to find ourselves back here next season. Some wingers and someone who can take a set-piece wouldn't go amiss. COYB.
