Well the sending off certainly changed the game because our midfield were chasing shadows until then.

Once they were down to ten men I thought we did a good job on them but lets not carried away by this performance overall. On another day the result could have been very different!

Another welcome three points!!

Really slow out of the blocks today, Leeds totally dominated until the sending off...BUT we then did our business and won the game. On another note, I have never seen a team dominate us so much in the air all over the park when 11 v 11? that was a strange one! Great result, now to put Millwall to the sword?

One on of my quarterly trips down from Yorkshire back to my home town and pre-sending off I was fearing the worst, with the midfield battle being lost and thinking MM had to change something to avoid things going downhill, the sending off changed that and Town transformed. So better to rate the players:

Scott Loach - Some very good early saves and kept us in the game prior to the sending off, I am delighted to see one of our own back in goal.

Aaron Cresswell - Very good and accomplished, a couple of sloppy balls which could have caused issues but overall continues to develop into an excellent full back.

Richard Stearman - Good in the air, on the ground, positionally aware and not afraid of a physical challenge - I would suggest he is a MUST SiGN.

Tommy Smith - Initially losing a lot in the air but as the game grew he took charge and is quite rightly a first choice centre back.

Luke Chambers - Excellent, a leader of men. Like the rest grew in stature as the game went on and good to see him with the armband when Edwards was subbed.

Carlos Edwards - A decent enough game, did nothing specatacular and not the player he was but still solid and obviously a captain with his teammates respect.

Andy Drury - I really do not think he is up to this level as a starter/creative midfielder. Looked better in the second half and presumably the return of Wordsworth will see him on the bench.

Luke Hyam - Tenacious, and on todays performance the kind of lad we need to build around. His setting up of the second goal was exellent and in the second half was up with our best players.

Jay Tabb - Was not sure what to expect, very very diminutive and that may have contributed to the sending off of Lees, but intelligent, and with a footballing brain and positional awareness of premiership quality, I was very impressed.

David McGoldrick - Two very well taken goals, his all round play is good too another I think we MUST SIGN,

Darryl Murphy - Excellent target man, his hold up play is superb and the phyisical battle is something he seemed to relish. I know he is a long term loan but I would be sad if we did not make him permanent.

JET - When he came on was quite simply phenomenal, he terrorised a shell shocked Leeds. A well taken if un-JET like goal and was so unlucky with the flick over and volley not long after.. Maybe an enigma but the lad has it all if he does it more regularly.

Frank Nouble - Was hoping to see more of him, but looks a prospect indeed. Big, strong, fast, direct - all the things we have been lacking for years. Sign him up Mick!

Michael Chopra - Did not really do much, but when he came on looked up for it and willing. Should perhaps have done better with that angled shot towards the end.

All in all, we won the battle and played flashes of good football, plenty of optimism for next season if we make some signings and the wholesale loan debacles are a thing of the past. MM and TC seem to have a team who want to play for the badge and for them and us.
