Don't really think we deserved to lose the match but we did not do enough to win it. There is clearly a problem with our creativity and if this is not remedied it will be another season of mediocrity. We also badly lack pace something that ITFC never seems to have and it frustrates me so much. Anderson does have some pace but he is obviously told to play narrow and today for me Tunnicliffe gave us little on the left flank giving the ball away far too easily. Chambers is clearly not at home at full back and does not have the ability to get forward like Cresswell does. Think perhaps its time to change the centre of midfield and give Hyam a rest perhaps put Tunnicliffe in there and bring Tabb back. Still does not solve the pace problem but something needs to change and sooner rather than later. Oh and Mick for heaven sake tell us where your future is as this will only frustrate fans and players alike.

Burnley did their homework on this one. Town were quickly closed down and dangerman McGoldrick was given no time on the ball before being quickly surrounded. There wasn't too much in it but Burnley always looked dangerous going forward while Town looked short of ideas and relied too many times on a long ball forward. A draw would have been a fair result but we are becoming predictable. I really can't for the life of me see why Nouble was thrown on instead of Marriot. He has contributed nothing in his previous outings and Wordsworth must be scratching is head like the rest of us.

disappointing game neither side deserved to win. if they are league leaders it don't say much for the league. they were there to be beaten. we need to make changes and soon. bring in Mings and Hewitt drop Hyam and Anderson. push creswell forward and tunners into the middle with Hewitt on the right wing. will give us natural width and extra height. more solid and creative.
gerkin not much to do
loach looks rusty
chambers targeted as the weak link with no protection from Anderson
beara is what he is
smith looks off form
creswell still our main threat
tunners started brightly but faded
skues solid but is not there to be pretty
hyam covers lots of ground and always offers himself but lacks quality
Anderson what a waste should have kept jet
murphy was one of his off games far to inconsistent
macgoldrick works hard and the odd nice touch but needs service and help
subs made no difference mick should have been braver and gone to win the game not try not to lose

Still heading back North after a lacklustre performance, indeed by both sides. I normally do a ratings thing here but feel that a quick general analysis is needed. It started badly losing the toss and shooting towards the "North" stand first - never out style. I am more concerned about the repeated lack of any creativity from midfield, at this point its worth saying that Mick M and TC have done a massive job here in stabilising the club, re-invigorating some players and getting the fans back behind he club. I do however wonder if there is ever a plan B, I am at a loss as to why we have not tried Jack Marriott at least for a short time. I think defensively we are ok, but Chambers is not a right back, and sadly accommodating Berra has split up what was a very solid defence. Today we lost Gerken, which gave Loach another chance, I don't think you can fault him and he seemed better coming for crosses than he has done before - sadly I think both keepers are of a similar standard. In midfield we lack creativity, Hyam and Skuse are the same type of players with the latter by far the more accomplished. I would like to see Tunnicliffe given a central berth to start and either a youngster wide or Jay Tabb. Up front we really are a one man strike force and you cannot expect David M to do it week in week out. Murphy is 6ft 3 yet seemed incapable of winning a header for the majority of the game, he should also have shot in the second half when he got past his defender. I would love to see Ebanks Blake added but a midfielder is very much the missing link here.
