Shane Exit? - Ipswich Town News

Shane Supple's omission from last night's 16 at Peterborough has led to newspaper speculation that the Irishman could be on his way out of Portman Road. Supple, 19, is currently one of Town's most bankable assets.

Boss Jim Magilton says Supple was rested as he has a slight wrist injury, but the report suggests that the Blues could be about to cash in on the Dubliner.

A possible fee of £1.2 million is mentioned, although with the keeper contracted until 2008 it is likely that the Blues would want significantly more for a player widely tipped to become a full international.

If the story proves to be true, it is unlikely to go down well with fans, particularly after repeated board statements ruling out the need for sales this summer and with Ian Westlake already gone to Leeds and Sam Parkin expected to join Preston or Luton.
