Fans' Forum News - Ipswich Town News

Much of Saturday's Fans' Forum prior to the Leeds match centred around the development of the North Stand. The Forum consisted of fans from around the ground and across a wide age range with members who live in Town, to those further afield in Suffolk and those living elsewhere in the country.

The new North Stand's development will depend on the number of people applying to join the Waiting List (see last Friday). Town don't want to make the same mistakes as they did in the eighties when the Pioneer Stand was developed. The club don't want a stand if there aren't the supporters to fill it.

The design of the stand still appears to be at an early stage, but a two-tier structure looks very likely. With space in short supply it seems there will be corner sections which will join the new stand to the existing Britannia and Cobbold Stands.

The club also revealed that the PA system will be replaced next summer at a cost of £100,000. With the South Stand having new units put in it makes sense to get rid of the awful system currently failing throughout the ground.

Amongst other areas of comment were catering (beer still too expensive despite recent drop), the shop (poor stock control, occasional poor service), the new kits and the availability of players for Supporters' Club Branch functions.

The club said that the reduction in beer prices amongst other things was due to the previous Forum and that the comments made this time will also be looked into and where necessary changes made.
