Garvan Still Sidelined - Ipswich Town News

Midfielder Owen Garvan is still some way from a return to first team action having been laid low with post-viral fatigue syndrome. The Irishman is starting to feel stronger but has not yet set a date for his comeback.

Garvan missed much of pre-season training due to shingles with his current condition a result of that infection. The 18-year-old says this left him completely exhausted: "I am on the mend. For a while I could not get out of bed on my own. I had no energy and needed help.

"I have been told that the next move has to come from me, and that I will know when I am strong enough to start thinking about training again.

"It is proving to be so frustrating and I rarely go up to the training ground any more as it makes it worse seeing everybody else running around.

"At the moment I am allowed one walk a day, and the rest of the time I am sitting around watching television and DVDs."
